Open Procreate files without an iPad
Turn any .procreate file into a layered PSD. Every layer, blend mode, group and mask, converted right here in your browser.
- Never uploaded
- First PSD free
Opens in Photoshop, Photopea, GIMP, Krita, Affinity and Clip Studio Paint
How it works
From iPad file to layered PSD in three steps
No app to install and no account to start. Most files take a few seconds.
- Step 1
Drop the file
Drag your .procreate file onto the page or pick it from your computer. Files from iCloud, Google Drive and Dropbox work too.
- Step 2
Check the layers
See the artwork and the full layer stack, with groups and blend modes, before you download anything.
- Step 3
Open it anywhere
Download the PSD and keep working in Photoshop, Photopea, GIMP, Krita or Affinity.
Every layer. Kept.
Your layer stack, exactly how you left it
toPSD rebuilds the Procreate file as real Photoshop layers, so it behaves the way it did on the iPad.
- Names and order just like your Layers panel
- All 26 blend modes mapped to Photoshop's
- Groups, clipping masks and layer masks, still editable
- Opacity and hidden layers carried over exactly
- Display P3 color embedded, so colors match
- Rotated and flipped canvases come out the way you saw them
Why toPSD
Most converters hand you a flat picture
Generic file converters upload your art and send back a single flattened image. toPSD keeps the layers, and the file never leaves your computer.
Private by design
Your art never leaves your computer
Most converters upload your file to a server. toPSD doesn't. The converter runs inside your browser, so the artwork stays on your device from start to finish. Even when you sign in, your account only keeps credits and file names, never the art.

FAQ
Questions, answered
How do I convert a Procreate file to PSD?
Drop the .procreate file on this page, or choose it from your computer. toPSD reads it in your browser and shows the artwork and every layer. Then select Download layered PSD. Your first PSD is free with a free account, and the file is never uploaded. If you still have the iPad, Procreate can also export a PSD itself from Actions > Share > PSD.
Can I open a Procreate file without an iPad?
Yes. You need neither an iPad nor Procreate. toPSD opens .procreate files in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on Windows, Mac or Linux. You get a preview, the full layer list, a full-size PNG and a layered PSD that opens in Photoshop, Photopea, GIMP, Krita and Affinity.
Can Photoshop open .procreate files?
No. Photoshop cannot open a .procreate file directly, on Windows or Mac. It needs a PSD. Convert the file to a layered PSD with toPSD, then open it in Photoshop with File > Open. The layers, blend modes, groups and masks arrive as normal, editable Photoshop layers.
Are my layers, blend modes and groups kept?
Yes. Every layer keeps its name, order, opacity, visibility and blend mode, and all 26 Procreate blend modes are mapped to Photoshop's. Groups, clipping masks and layer masks come through as their Photoshop equivalents, and canvas rotation and flips are applied. Text layers arrive as pixel layers.
Is my artwork uploaded anywhere?
No. toPSD converts the file inside your own browser, on your computer. The artwork never goes to a server, so nobody else can see it. If you sign in, your account keeps only your email, credits, purchases and a list of past conversions by file name, never the art.
Will the colors match what I saw on the iPad?
Yes. toPSD embeds the file's color profile, including Display P3, in both the PSD and the PNG, so colors stay the same. The one exception is layers using Procreate's Hue or Saturation blend modes: Photoshop calculates those two modes with slightly different math, so those layers can look a little different.
What does it cost?
Previewing a Procreate file, the full-size flat PNG and the time-lapse video are free with no sign-in. Your first layered PSD is free with a free account and no credit card. After that, toPSD costs $3.90 for one file, or $24.90 once for unlimited files. There is no subscription.
Do I need Procreate or Photoshop installed?
No. toPSD runs in a web browser, so there is nothing to install. The PSD it makes opens in any app that reads PSD files, including Photoshop, Photopea (free, in the browser), GIMP, Krita and Affinity.
